Donald Trump's Use Of Emergency Funds To Build Wall Is Unlawful Says A Federal Judge
On Friday the 11th of October 2019, a federal judge ruled in Texas appears poised to block the use of those funds as she said that the national emergency announcement by Trump to build a border wall is against the law.
The United State's David Briones of the District Court for the Western District of Texas, told protesters of the wall to file a limitation of a preliminary injunction.
El Paso County, Texas and Border Network for Human Rights brought the lawsuit and seeks an injunction to stop Donald Trump's national emergency declaration. the lawsuit has argued that President Donald Trump has overstepped his given authority the moment he issued the decision to get access to more funds for the border wall after receiving one billion, three hundred and seventy-five million dollars ($1,375) from Congress.
The protest also accuses that the declaration has not met the National Emergencies Act of the definition of an "Emergency"
In Friday's ruling, at issue, is about the military construction funds which has been diverted into building a border wall. the judge has also noted that this very ruling has no effect to the use of funds outside that of the military construction funds for the building of the wall, not excluding counter drug and treasury forfeiture funds, which has been channeled for the construction of the wall.
